The Connection
One foot follows something new...
After spending more than 20 years in retail sales, I found myself making a career change and entering a completely new industry. I had no contacts, no leads, and no interest in spending my days locked in a room making cold calls.
So I decided to do what most people do when starting over:build a network.
I attended a handful of industry networking events and made the rounds, but the conversations felt transactional, and I struggled to find my people.
Then I discovered a networking group built around a shared love of the Grateful Dead, and everything changed.

Almost overnight, networking stopped feeling like networking.
The relationships came naturally because we already had something in common. What started as business connections quickly turned into friendships, concert buddies, travel companions, and a community I genuinely wanted to be part of.
It became one of my best sources of leads and business opportunities, but more importantly, it became a source of meaningful relationships.
That's what inspired theHelping Friendly Network.
When I look around the Phish community, I see people who are remarkably similar in all the ways that matter. Many of us are raising families, building careers, running businesses, and balancing responsibilities that demand our time and attention.
But we are also in some of the most productive and influential years of our professional lives.
And while our jobs, industries, and backgrounds may be different, we already share something important: a common language, a common experience, and a community that has connected us for decades.
The magic of Phish has never been limited to the music. It's the road trips, the friendships, the stories, the places we never would have visited if the band wasn't playing there. And it's the people we've met along the way.
So why not bring that same spirit into our professional lives?
The Helping Friendly Network was created to connect Phish fans who want to expand their professional networks, build meaningful relationships, open doors that otherwise may have remained closed, and keep it in the family whenever possible.
Our shared love of this band is where the connection begins.
What we build from there is entirely up to us...
